
Somatic Trauma Resolution Breathwork
Sessions are unique to you but I primarily use body-based work ("somatics" like Somatic Experiencing) and Biodynamic Breathwork & Trauma Release System (BBTRS®) to connect to sensations, experience our emotions and inner resources, and release tension and trauma from the nervous system through feeling and completing.
Emotions are embodied experiences and, as the element of water, we need to be with them in compassionate presence to let them flow and move through us, or they get stuck in our bodies waiting to be fully expressed, as trauma science now supports.
Without actualizing these impulses and emotions, this can manifest as parts of us that feel stuck, stressed, defensive, or even inaccessible. This leads us more prone to stress responses and reactivity in our daily lives. But through the mind-body connection and activating breathwork, we can gently express, resolve, and release this from the nervous system, softening tension, traumas, emotions, and reactive states stored deep within the subtle layers.
My focus is on real healing, weaving in trauma science, somatic experiencing, conscious expression. healing touch, energy work, and relational elements, not just over-activation for a temporary cathartic high like you see in holotropic breathwork or even many psychedelic therapies and journeys.
The body, as the first layer of mindfulness, supports us in deeper inner awareness and connection to our present moment experience. The breath, which means spirit or life force across languages, revives our vitality and unlocks our infinite reservoir of compassion and creativity, opening us up to intimate connections to ourselves, others, and to life.
This work is deep and powerful, for those ready to make space for something new.
Belts of Tension: Trauma and chronic stress are multi-layered, so I offer a 7-session breathwork package to work through all major belts of tension in the body: the eyes, oral, cervical, heart, diaphragm, pelvis & legs, and the full body. Starting with the eyes, we’ll also incorporate Brainspotting techniques to powerfully but gently release neurophysiological sources of emotional and body trauma. Body work and relevant exercises for each remaining belt are used as we explore through the process.
Integrative Container: I also offer a 12-session Container to integrate all of my tools more holistically for personal growth and transformation.
