Meditation as Medicine

You are not your thoughts.

Learn to meditate on your own, without the need of a guide, guru, or any gadgets, from compassionate presence to contemplation to consciousness expansion.

Meditation is not the point of meditation though, so I teach the wisdom of mindfulness, engage the energetics of the subtle body, and guide the art of spiritual contemplation to source your own inner wisdom.

You can be completely new to meditating or an experienced meditator looking to go deeper.  These are private sessions so are uniquely adapted to you.

  • Meditation is not the point of meditation. In any of my work with meditation, the objective is always (1) compassionate presence and (2) contemplative wisdom. So in learning meditation from me, you'll learn the wisdom of presence.

  • To receive a personal mantra similar to Transcendental Meditation (“TM”), see my on-demand mantra course.

  • We can incorporate breath for both embodied contemplation purposes as well as nervous system regulation. Our breathing patterns are often keeping us in heightened states but we can retrain our breath to settle the body-mind, with a meditative mind as a natural effect. 

  • You don’t need psychedelics to trip if you can master your mind. For more experienced and grounded meditators, we can delve deeper into inner journeys, lucid dreams, illusory form, or non-local awareness. Compassionate presence and contemplative wisdom are still always my focus or it’s just another delusion at best and unsafe at worst.

  • For more experienced and grounded meditators seeking to expand their spirituality and connection to something larger, we can delve deeper into self-enquiry, disidentification, centering prayer, and more.

    I teach non-dogmatic Christian Contemplative practice.

Hi, I’m Susan Reis, your meditation, mindfulness, and contemplation teacher.

Meditation, if used right, is medicine and trains the mind, strengthening our ability to be present in the every day.

Contemplation uses the skills meditation embodies in your mind and body, for deeper connection to the whole of life and to your own profound insights.
